Overview

A unit tier list for Anime Dice reads differently from most games, because rarity is only one of four numbers deciding what a character earns. Rarity sets the base, then mutation, trait and grade multiply it and can reorder the ladder. This page explains how to judge units properly using the income routine.

Top Units in Action

The video below opens new update units at real speed, which is useful for seeing how quickly the roster changes and why any tier list carries a verification date. Treat rankings as a snapshot rather than a permanent truth, and check the update log before acting on an older list.

How to Judge a Unit

Four layers decide what a placed unit actually produces, and they stack rather than replace each other. That is why a well-built mid-rarity character frequently beats a badly rolled high-rarity one, and why the grades guide is worth reading before you evaluate a pull.

Rarity

Common through Mythic sets the base cash per second of the unit.

Mutation

A rare variant that multiplies the base far beyond its tier.

Trait

Thirteen passives, several raising income directly.

Grade

Nine income multipliers rerolled with Gems at the hub.

Cash Per Second

The only number that ultimately decides where a unit ranks.

Offline Value

A unit's real value includes every hour it earns while you are away.

Never sell a unit before checking all three modifiers. A mutated, well-graded character can out-earn a higher rarity with nothing applied.

Documented Rarity Ladder

The ladder below reflects what is documented across community sources. Higher tiers are proportionally rarer, and the top of the ladder carries odds measured in tens of thousands of rolls. Compare this with the secret units guide for tiers above Mythic.

The developer publishes very few hard numbers, so treat cash multipliers as community estimates rather than official figures.

Why Rarity Alone Misleads

Because the four modifiers multiply rather than add, a unit's position depends on what has been applied to it. A rare with a strong trait and a good grade can beat an unmodified legendary, particularly in single-target damage where additive passives stack differently. See the traits tier list.

The practical consequence is that you should decide what to keep based on a unit's current state rather than its tier label alone. Reroll cheap units cautiously, because trait rerolls are limited and a misclick is not refundable, and reserve your Gems for the character that already earns the most on your plot.

Reading the Plot, Not the List

The most reliable signal of a unit's real value is what the plot does when you place it. Swap a candidate in for your weakest placed unit, collect for a minute, and compare the income change against the unit you removed. That measurement beats any ranking, including the rarity guide.

Because offline income uses the same placed lineup, the improvement also compounds overnight. A small gain measured over one minute becomes a much larger one over eight hours away, which is why the farming setup matters as much as the roster.

Storage capacity interacts with this too. A larger backpack lets you roll more before selling, which means more candidates to compare in one batch and fewer sessions where a strong unit is judged in isolation. The farming guide covers the storage side.

Ranking Criteria Worth Using

Since no official ranking exists, the useful approach is to build your own list from measurable criteria. The five below are the ones that actually move the needle on a real account, and they align with the income routine rather than with aesthetic preference.

  • Cash per second once all modifiers are applied
  • Whether the unit already has a strong trait or grade
  • Whether a mutation is present, which overrides most tier gaps
  • How expensive it is to bring the unit up to its ceiling
  • Whether it survives tower floors if you need combat value
FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best unit in the game?

The documented top of the ladder is Mythic, with a small number of Mythic characters carrying the highest cash multipliers. In practice the best unit on your account is whichever one has the strongest combination of mutation, trait and grade applied.

Should I keep rare units or sell them?

Keep any rare that has a strong trait, a good grade or a mutation. Sell plain duplicates and commons that are not on a pad, because a unit in storage earns nothing at all while the cash could be funding upgrades.

How often does the tier list change?

Every sizeable update. New characters enter the pool and balance patches can move existing ones, which is why any ranking should carry a verification date and be checked against the update log before you act on it.

Does rarity decide damage in the tower?

Not directly. Traits decide damage and health boosts, and the tower is the only place those stats matter. A lower rarity unit with a strong all-round trait can outperform a higher rarity one with a blank trait line.

Is a mutation better than a rarity upgrade?

Usually yes. Mutations apply a large multiplier on top of the base, which frequently exceeds the difference between adjacent rarity tiers. Finding one during a rolling session is the main reason to inspect your backpack before selling.

Should I grade low-rarity units?

Generally no. Gems are limited, and grading your highest earner first returns more per Gem spent. Grade cheaper units only once your top performers have already reached a strong tier.
